Italy - Emilia Romagna

I come from Emilia Romagna in the north of Italy. Here a real hc scene doesn't exist at the moment.
The hardcore people are divided into two different kinds:

-Political Hardcore Scene : these people in their lyrics talk about antifascism, animal liberation, anarchism/communism and veganism. They listen especially to thrashcore/fastcore and italian 80's hc bands. The shows are in the squats ("Centri Sociali").

- "Club" Hardcore Scene : these people in their lyrics talk about their problems and emotions, and often are influenced by posicore lyrics. They listen especially to USA hardcore bands and metalcore. The shows of their bands, often, are in the clubs (for example Vidia club of Cesena and Blogos in Bologna).

A good sense of community doesn't exist now. Some people talk about the "unity of the hardcore scene" but in Italy this word doesn't exist. The people in the italian scene are victims of "Fashion Before Passion," they prefer clothes.
Often attitude doesn't exist, brotherhood doesn't exist, unity doesn't exist. All in all it is a sad thing.

I live close enough to Boston to go to shows there. Still close enough to Rhode Island to go to shows there and Anchors Up in Haverhill has tons of shows which is about an hour from where I am.

I honestly don't know what it is about New England that produces in my opinon some of the best hardcore bands.
We may have been kind of spoiled with amazing bands form classic hardcore bands SSD and DYS to Verse and Have Heart

The hc scene in Eastern Europe has deep crust/punk roots. It all started when the first crust antifa band Hate to State was formed in Grodno in 1994. It laid the beginning of the development of the punk-hc community in Grodno. It also has influenced the whole eastern-european scene as well. The belarussian scene in those times and up to the present tends to a position of anti-rasism, tolerance and patriotism. Many people associate themselves with sxe\vegetarian ideology, nevertheless there are a lot of drunk punks here, who wanna know nothing but how to fill in their stomachs with beer. Self-destruction is the great problem of post-USSR people,,,

This is an anarcho-punk-hc distribution & label and I'm sure they can help with some info about bands like ak 47, ljubisa samardzic and that part of the scene.

I'm pretty sure that I'm forgetting somebody again but I will remember eventually :)

Estonia

I am from Tallinn, capital of Estonia, a small country in northeastern Europe. Unlike our neighbouring countries (Finland, Russia, Latvia), the HC-scene is pretty small here, but it has started to develop in recent years. Weird thing is that the more people are attracted to hardcore/punk scene, the more DIY-oriented it has become. Most of the concerts nowadays are held at Follow Your Dreams studios - a small practice room for young bands - thanks to Skot and Max (guys from Tallinn's most prominent hardcore band NMR).


Still, bigger gigs are held at various bars, but the rent is pretty big, so for the organizers there's a big chance to lose money with those shows (like it happened with Death Before Dishonor/Ignite gig). Local hardcore community, as small as it is, is strong, I can say that. For example there's not been a fight in the last five years, at least i don't remember any. Nobody cares if you're russian or estonian, we're all in this together!

Dead for Something (Ida-Virumaa)
Positive grindy hardcore punk, girl vocals.

Lahesõda (Tartu)
Started as a street punk band, but is nowadays moving towards NY hardcore sounds.

Hirnlos (Tallinn)
Fast and noisy!

Burn Still (Tallinn)
Metalcore band, but still respected in the community due to guys being also active in the scene.
