Blog - Wargasm Collective

Wargasm (Collective) Kolektif is a non-profit DIY organization team from Istanbul and looking forward to book non-profit punk bands worldwide for help Istanbul punk scene keep alive and politically active.
Up till now we arranged lots of local punk gigs in Istanbul era includes Oi Polloi, The Restarts, Disorder and Daily od.
We try to improve the Punk/HC/Crust/Thrash etc scene in Turkey especially in Istanbul, we try to create alternatives and change the scene to political.”

Ukraine - Crimea

Ukraine - Simferopol

"In Simferopol unfortunately we don't have any scene. Earlier our guys made show once a month. Last gig was 1,5 years ago. We have no people who can support the scene. In my city now different trendy deathcore\metalcore bands like "BMTH" are popular. And I live in a very poor country so it's expensive to keep a DIY scene, especially when the youth is indifferent to these things. The Memorials guitarist keeps distro label Young Voices Records.

Very rarely we have concerts in Sevastopol, there will be the show soon by the way!

Soon Memorials go on spring tour:

Kharkiv:

Moscow:

By the way, there is a new ukrainian band Set Adrift which sounds like 90's hardcore, they have 1 EP.

You can also check out live records of Aspire (Odessa) and Still (Odessa) when they played in Vegan Club (St. Petersburg). Click link to start .rar download.

“If you ask me the best bands from Malmö, or Crime City, as it is known as, are :

Sista Sekunden

Hårda Tider

Herätys

Skitkids

Fy Fan

Malmö seems to have a very varied scene with something for everyone.

Last month I went to Gothenburg HC fest at a place called Oceanen and the atmosphere was great. It felt so good to see people with patched jeans jackets, punks, hardcore kids etc. running together in the circle pit. The mixture of bands was great.”

Agent Attitude : Hardcore from Uppsala (they also have a great scene!)

Night Fever : Hardcore from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Hårda Tider : Crime City's Finest.

Commitment Crew RIP : Gothenburg Hardcore

Sweden - Nyköping

“I live in Nyköping, a town in the middle of Sweden with 50 000 people in. Nyköping is located 100 kilometers south of Stockholm. Some famous bands are from here:

Disfear

Victims

In the 90s Nyköping was a real punk-city with lots of bands and a big scene. Today there are only 4 active bands left:

Vulture Mob (Hardcore)

Systemskifte (Crustpunk)

Still With The Pisces (Punk n Roll)

Suloh (Punk)

But the future's looks nice cos 1 year ago a group called Bergatrollen squatted some houses which led to them getting another house legally from the politicians. The house is now called Magasinet, and thanks to Magasinet I think the punk-scene is on its way back. We’ve got gigs every month on Magasinet and people travel here from other cities to go to the Magasinet gigs. Last week as an example we had Italian Grindpunx Humus playing and people drove over 100 kilometers to come to that show.”

"I wrote you last time that NNNW has issued new albums of Cast In Iron and Government Flu. Today I got a pack with them and both records kick ass! And the layout of both is pretty awesome too!

No Sanctuary Records is going to put out a 12" split of Slip and Last Believer.

No Sanctuary together with Scream Records have also put out a great Calm The Fire one side LP - "Blackout". The layout of this one is also really cool.

There will be also reissue of April "Prolog" and "Kill Depression" on LP made by few record labels...

APRIL KOLEKTYW

NO PASARAN

NO SANCTUARY

PASAŻER

REFUSE

In Our Hands Rec. has issued the new Identity EP. Identity is my favourite polish hc band and this record is their best. It's totally worth checking.

I have checked polish bands on the blog and there isn't anything about Epileptic Walk from Poznan.

They put out their demo on-line.

Cheers!"

South Africa 4

"Our scene just seems to be getting smaller and smaller which is a bit disappointing, there are still shows going down but not as many as there used to be.

In the past few months there have been some new bands formed that are pretty rad...

Compass from Johannesburg have just posted some new tracks on their page

Towers from Durban

Brainwreck

Also SA hardcore legends Crossingpoint have decided to pack it up after a strong 10 year run, they will be missed. Ex crossingpoint members are included in Towers And Compass actually :)

There is a friggin kiff online zine called Rise, thats has some really cool interviews and news.

One of SA's best Go! Go! Bronco have put up a rad video - a must see.

And we are getting stoked for The Ghost Inside tour happening in May."

“We had the Gothenburg Hardcore Festival last Saturday. Was really crazy.

We got some guys from Gothenburg sxe running swehc now containing all hardcore news in Sweden.

The guys running it are the "oldies" in the hc-scene here, they play in various bands and keep everyone updated. A lot of europeans visit it as well I think (they post interviews, band reviews, shows etc and it’s very active). Everything's in english ofc! :)

So that’s kinda all the stuff you need to get yourself updated on our scene which is growing as fuck atm :)”
