Catalonia

I think that Spain is different from the rest of the world. I mean: we have only had a scene since the 90's.

In the 90's there were some good bands like:

Afterlife (who will play the latest shows with 7 Seconds here in Spain after 8-9 years)

Refraining

Standstill (but they play something like pop right now)

Shorebreak RIP

They were the most popular bands in Barcelona.

You can also check

Out Come the Wolves RIP

Nowadays the scene is very poor, I mean, a very few people go to hxc shows.
And if we have to talk about straight edge...well, the scene is SO poor.

Now here are some hxc bands that still play:

The Defense

Cinder

Fresh Trash

Gulag

Hzero

Fix me

Anal hard

Good Fellaz

And the hxc fest of Barcelona is Fire 'n' Ice Fest

Azerbaijan

Cheers from Azerbaijan)

Here are the links to our only hardcore band Overkill For Profit (which I play in)

Russia 5

Russia 4

I am from Moscow. Lately our hardcore scene has developed greatly. Our relationships are quite good.

We have such bands as:

Rearranged

Shout Aloud

Ray

High Hopes

Argument 5.45

Obsession

Slovenia

Slovenia is a really small country, which means it has a really small scene, the same people at every show, different genres of hardcore all together.
The sense of community sometimes works sometimes it doesn't, but we always try to have a good time. Straight edge is sort of dead, but there are still people who choose the drug free lifestyle, and the number of vegans/vegeterians is rising beacuse of places such as infoshops and promotion at shows.
The zine community lives through old zines, but most of the zines that come out are mostly artzines, and there are not as many zines about the scene (like i said, its a really small country, everybody knows everybody and everybody knows everything:))
There is a forum on Storm Inside that keeps us up to date on shows n vegan recipes.
Recently there has been an explosion of deathcore kids at concerts and I think its kinda cool. :)

Every city has its own youth center which sets up shows but the most active hc show organisers are

panda banda

Cuza Pivka
dirty skunks

insane booking

hardcore koper

That's all I can remember for now...

The most active bands I can think of are :

melete

in-sane

killing option

iamdisease (new band, old kids)

the hoax program

final approach

anaeroba

aktivna propaganda

broken up bands that had great music:

akedeia

with engine heart

and I also think I should mention
moonlee records

South Africa 2

South Africa 1
South Africa - Durban

I'm from Johannesburg. The scene here is VERY small, it seems to have gotten smaller over the past 2 years. And unfortunately there isn't much of a community vibe either. The majority are too busy trying to look tough...

But things are looking up, we recently have had the pleasure of some amazing bands touring here like: Have Heart, Shipwreck AD and No Turning Back which blew our minds! Its rad that they'd make the effort to come all this way.

Shows are usually independantly organised and Hardcore bands rarely play Hardcore Shows, they usually play along side metal acts. The main venues are

Black Dahlia

The Bohemian

Cool Runnings

Distros like Give and Take Records and Hope Haven Records are really helping by making the music more accessible.

Some of the Johannesburg bands are

Truth and Its Burden, who are currently touring Europe.

Conqueror

Reason To Live

Durban bands definitely need a mention with bands like Crossingpoint who were probably the first hardcore bands in the country.

Go! Go! Bronco

City Of Gates

And there are some sick bands preparing to get gigging soon ill keep you posted :)

Dankie ;)

Denmark

We don't have too many awesome hc acts here at the moment, but even so, the scene as a whole seems to be thriving. A lot of the good punk bands here are more garage-oriented. We get a lot of awesome acts from other countries, and many of the swedish hc bands come here to play all the time.

Night Fever is one of the local bands that are really killing it right now. They play pissed off old-school hc but somehow manages to sound like a breath of fresh air. Many of the good danish hc acts were active a few years ago on the label/collective called k-town. Right now though, it seems like there's sort of a post-wave slump.

You might wanna check out:

Leathervein

Ripping Headache

Hjertestop

Guddommelig Galskab
