Festival - MAY DAY, Prague

"May Day Festival has become in the best sense a committed political festival event with an overlap, which is primarily an expression of support for antifascist ideas and attitudes about the struggle to free society without capitalism or other distortion.

This year we can prove that the interconnection of artistic expression and radical policies is possible. Moreover, it is under conditions that deny the capitalist mantra. So again, there will be no entrance fees, sponsors, subsidies and patronage politics, but instead enthusiasm and determination. The political dimension to the festival this year will be supported by a larger space for presentations, workshops and lectures than there were last year.

Music remains an attractive part. As in the previous two years, we have managed to reach out to bands and artists whose participation makes it clear that music and politics may be two sides of same coin."
